Here a summary of the trip:
Day 0:
We will welcome you at the Lochmaddy ferry port (Skye route) or Benbecula airport (Glasgow airport) and take you to your accommodation on Benbecula. Over diner our guide will be taking you through the route.

Day 1:
On the first day you will be doing the Barra route where the official starting point of the Hebridean Way is located in Vatersay.

You will be transferred to the Eriskay ferry to Ardmhor or Barra. From here we will drive to the startpoint at Vatersay where your cycling trip begins. Starting from here there is some time to ride into Castlebay to see the actual castle. From here we follow the west coast cycling along the Atlantic Ocean to the ferry terminal. After the crossing to Eriskay we will continue to Daliburgh where the finish will be.

We will drive you to your accommodation where you can enjoy a nice meal and share the stories of that day and look forward to your Uist trip the next day.
Total distance: 25 mi

Day 2:
You will be driven to the start point in Daliburgh for the Uist trip. A relatively flat road to Lochmaddy through the stunning landscape of South Uist, crossing the causeways to Benbecula, Grimsay, then North Uist.

When cycling through Uist you will appreciate the big skies and reflection of sky in the many many lochs.

Arriving at Lochmaddy we will drive you to your accommodation where we have no doubt you will have many things to talk about.

Total distance just over 38 mi.

Day 3:
Starting in Lochmaddy we will cycle to the ferry in Berneray to take us across the sound of Harris. After saying goodbye to Uist you arrive at Leverburgh on Harris. From here we take the west coast road to Tarbert our destination of the day. Almost all the time you will be besides the Atlantic Ocean enjoying some of the most spectacular views. Towards the end of the trip you will get into the hills of Harris.

Arriving at Tarbert we will drive you to your accommodation in Stornoway. All your luggage will have been taken care off. Time to enjoy a nice dinner and walk through town. Relaxing for the big trip ahead the next day.

Total distance: 30.67 mi.

Day 4:
Starting at Tarbert you are surrounded by the hills. After a few miles you will start your climb to the Clisham, the highest hill in the Outer Hebrides. A very rewarding climb taking you over the Harris hills. Expect some spectacular views followed by the descend crossing the border into Lewis.

From here we cycle through the Lochs areas. Loch Seaforth and Loch Erisort are deep see lochs and your road will follow them taking you to the exit to the last leg of your trip today To Callanish.

One of most beautiful moor roads will take you across the island to Callanish. Today’s finish is at the famous Callanish Stones Circle, a sight to be seen.

Total distance: 38 mi.

Day 5:
The Callanish Stones will inspire you at the start of your final day of this cycling trip. From here we cycle to Carloway where we start the west coast road all the way to the Butt or Lewis in Ness. With the Atlantic Ocean on your left you will cycle through villages dotted along the route. After Barvas the road will take you to your end point at the most north westerly part of the Outer Hebrides if not Europe.

Literally at the end of the road, next to the lighthouse, you will be able to touch the Hebridean Way marker which will conclude your cycle trip.

We will transfer you to your accommodation in Stornoway where you can celebrate your achievement and enjoy a nice evening out.

The next day we will transfer you to Tarbert ferry terminal where the ferry will take you back to Skye or if you flew in by plane we will arrange your transfer to the Stornoway airport.
